Simple and direct – the most common method of making a gift. Cash provides immediate support to assist New Jersey SEEDS in fulfilling its daily mission. All checks should be made payable to New Jersey SEEDS.
Ways to Give
Gifts can be pledged over a three to five year period. By budgeting a gift over time, a donor may be able to provide greater support. Donors have the flexibility to fulfill pledges annually or semi-annually. Payments via credit card may also be arranged.
GIFTS OF SECURITIES:
A common way of contributing a substantial sum to New Jersey SEEDS is by the direct transfer of appreciated securities. Gifts of appreciated stock are advantageous to the donor in significant tax savings, with many donors finding they can give more than they thought possible.
GIFTS OF INSURANCE:
Insurance gifts result in tax deductions for the donor who transfers ownership and names the New Jersey SEEDS as beneficiary of a new or existing policy. If the premiums are not paid-up and the donor continues to pay the premiums, the payments are fully deductible as outright cash gifts.
Bequests: Cash and securities may be bequeathed to New Jersey SEEDS by a clause in a donor’s will or a codicil added to a will. The donor retains full control of the asset during his/her lifetime, and at the time of the donor’s death, the bequest qualifies as a charitable deductions for estate tax purposes. There are many planned giving options that allow donors to retain income throughout his/her lifetime while giving the appreciated assets New Jersey SEEDS.
